What to put in the first message
A short message gets a short answer. Four things move an enquiry along faster than anything else: the town, what the roof is covered in, roughly which way the relevant roof plane faces, and the approximate size of the room underneath.
Two photographs are worth more than a paragraph of description. One of the roof from outside, taken far enough back to show the whole plane and where it meets the walls. One of the ceiling from inside, showing where the light is wanted. Between them they answer most of the questions that would otherwise take a fortnight of correspondence.
